hello! i’m dash,
a software engineer living in the san francisco bay area.
i currently work for apple, inc. creating health software for apple watch. i’m often busy reading political theory and fiction for my book clubs. i’m a member of double union, a feminist hacker / maker space in san francisco, and i use the space for community, crafting, and computer time.
i’m passionate about system design (from software to society) and health (mental, physical, interpersonal). i believe a better world is possible and that we must change how we organize society to make it happen. i love board games, jigsaw puzzles, and cooking veggie-centered food. i also love organizing events and tend to nerd out about meeting process & facilitation. i’m often full of energy, but i do my best to carve out calm moments to tend to my vegetable garden, enjoy california’s nature, and connect with introverts. in my relationships i place high value on authenticity, forgiveness, and commitment.
i grew up homeschooled (well, unschooled) in santa barbara and spent my childhood doing math and programming when i wasn’t at the beach. i learned a love of teaching from my mother, and now have many years of experience tutoring math and computer science. my dreams for the future include teaching again, becoming a therapist, and / or working in public transit.
